Seeking Live in Carers / Personal Assistants

The purpose of live in care is to enable vulnerable adults to remain living independently in their own homes by providing care and companionship.
There will be a care plan in place which has been designed to promote the best quality of life for the client. Typical tasks that the live in carer will be required to complete include:
- Preparing appetising meals
- Housekeeping work such as dusting, laundry and ironing
- Accompanying clients on outings
- Assisting with shopping, bills and other correspondence
- Providing companionship
- Prompting medication
- Attending to the needs of clients with particular conditions e.g. Parkinson’s, dementia
- Assisting with personal care such assistance with washing and dressing, medication and potentially incontinence care
- Using equipment, which may require special training e.g. hoists
- Monitoring and reporting on the general wellbeing of the client
What you need:
- Compassion and empathy
- Patience and understanding
- A genuine interest in the welfare of others
- Excellent communication skills
You must be reliable and conscientious, honest and trustworthy and have the desire to learn.
Previous experience is desired but not essential.
