Home Carer Job | Guildford

We require full and part time Home Carers in Guildford and the surrounding areas.

As a Guidford based Home Carer you would help our predominantly elderly clients to remain living independently within their own homes in the Guildford area.  You would assist them with a range of tasks from home help and compansionahip to personal care.  Each care visit would vary in length from 30 minutes up to several hours, although most care visits are from 30 minutes to an hour long.  Normally you would be visiting clients on your own, although some of our clients with greater needs require the assistance of two carers.

Because most of our clients require home care visits 7 days a week, we require Guildford Home Carers who are flexible and able to work mornings and/or evenings as well as some weekend work.  Home Carers must also have a valid driving licence and their own car with a valid MOT and correct insurance.  Examples of the work that this care job involves includes:

  • Morning (from 7am) - Assisting clients to get up and out of bed, washed and dressed, prepare breakfast, prompt or administer medication.  Assistance with toileting may also be required for some clients.
  • Lunch - Prepare a hot meal and drink.  Prompt or administer medication, provide companionship and maybe assist with some household tasks.
  • Tea Time - Make a hot drink and a light snack, prompt or administer medication.  Perhaps take the client on an outing, shopping or to an appointment.
  • Evening (up to 10pm) - Prepare a meal or light snack and drink, prompt or administer medication and assist the client to get ready for bed.

  • NVQ2 or higher in social care.
